One Fine Winter Day...

My two cat chasers started back to school after almost 3 whole weeks of us all being together.  We've had so much fun together.  The first 10 days were spent on our family vacation.  We hit the ground running as soon as we returned.  The next day we spent the evening with some wonderful friends and church following that.  The next week was a great time of relaxing, playing the Wii game together,  Mario Galaxy,  what a trip!   It is a tradition to spend New Years Eve at our church and a wonderful breakfast is served afterward.  We always hang in there till after midnight.  We were going to go to the mountain house this past weekend but chose to have friends over and I cooked both Friday and Saturday.
   Friday's menu was...

Baked chicken breast covered with bacon and cheddar cheese
Tortellini with alfredo sauce
Green beans and diced tomatoes, ( you must try it!)
Garlic bread smothered with cheese
Tossed salad
Lemon ice box pie with lemon wedges (prepared by Madison)
Sweet tea.

We sat around with our friends afterwards and they helped me to begin the process of changing my blog.
   Saturday's,  menu was...

Vegetable Stew
Hamburgers and gravy
Sweet peas and carrots
Tossed salad with spinach, dried cranberries and walnuts
Skillet of cornbread
Sweet tea
Madison made another lemon ice box pie with lime wedges this time.

So today they went back to school and I was happily  all alone.  Outside it was becoming a winter wonderland with the slow rain and freezing temperatures.  I knew there must be something that I could photograph.  So about 2:30 I ran out for a while and begin looking for a neat subject.  I love the swans.  We visit these swans during the spring and summer and enjoy walking the trail around the lake.  I was mesmerized by the beautiful view of the trees that were covered with ice and the swans sitting in the rain showers as if it were a sunny day.  Well it was a sunny day above the rain clouds  and for me there was a lot of beautiful things to admire and be thankful for.     Oh I mustn't forget, a sneak  trip to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and the doughnuts were HOT!
