I'm a straight out of the camera kinda gal. This has been my number one goal since I began my adventure with photography. Having said that I do own a digital camera because I was going belly up developing film. I do enjoy playing around with Photoshop and I think that it is an awesome tool that digital photography cannot do without. I might get some negative feedback and I am ready for that so that I can get your point of view. In the areas of contrast, saturation and sharpness I believe that digital needs all three of the elements to some degree. I don't think that I have ever taken a SOOC that I would be willing to post online. I do some of the three things that I mentioned to all of my pictures. But, I want to get it right the first time to save time in the end. I haven't achieved that goal yet but I am still trying.

I agree with you.
Initially ever one was against touching up photos.
Just as they were against digital.
However things have changed and similar to the acceptance of digital by the film purists people will start to accept “photoshopping”. It is about presenting a pleasing visual and it doesn’t matter how good you are with photoshop a bad photo will never become a great photo.
Have a great weekend

I do have question though. Do you believe that digital will ever be as good as film. Meaning a perfect SOOC shot. I have a Canon EOS Elan 7 and I have thought about taking it with me and just putting it up against a 5D to see the difference. Looking back, I was not as good with seeing photography 4 years ago as I am now but I captured some really great shots with my film camera without any adjustments. Have a great weekend yourself.
